The Hatteras Marlin Club Blue Marlin Release Tournament is one of the most storied invitational events on the East Coast. Founded in 1959, the club sits at Cape Hatteras — known as Game Fish Junction, where the cold Labrador Current meets the Gulf Stream just 18 miles offshore. The conditions here are what serious blue marlin programs are built around. The 67th Annual runs June 21–27, 2026. Membership and tournament entry are by invitation only. If you hold an invitation and need a vessel, Black Book can position a privately owned, tournament-rigged sportfish build in Hatteras for tournament week. Every boat in the fleet is captain-maintained and set up to compete at this level.
