The Big Rock Kids Billfish Tournament is a total release event held annually out of Big Rock Landing in Morehead City, North Carolina, designed to introduce junior anglers to competitive billfishing while benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of the Coastal Plains. The 6th Annual runs July 8–11, 2026. The format is open to anglers of all ages — junior anglers 16 and under earn an additional 25 release points per billfish, making crew composition part of the competitive strategy. In 2023 the event drew 73 boats and 350 junior anglers for a purse of $176,000. The tournament is also the third and final leg of the Big Rock Triple Crown Series, which combines points across the KWLA, Big Rock, and the Kids Tournament. Black Book has vessels positioned in the Carolinas for tournament season. If you want to fish the Big Rock Kids Tournament on a privately owned, tournament-rigged sportfish boat, this is where to start.
