The Big Game Battle is Nantucket's premier invitational offshore fishing tournament and one of the most distinctive events on the New England summer calendar. The 25th Annual runs July 29–August 2, 2026 at the Nantucket Boat Basin, with a new pick-2-of-3 fishing format introduced for 2026 that gives teams more flexibility around weather and maximizes full fishing days. What began in 2002 with a handful of boats has grown into a 50-boat, 300-participant event with two competitive divisions, a Nite Bite overnight category, and a Team Challenge. The tournament has raised more than $2 million for charitable organizations since its founding — the 2026 beneficiary is Jack's Drive 55, supporting pediatric brain tumor research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
