The Cape Cod Bluewater Classic is the northernmost bluewater tournament on the East Coast circuit and one of the premier big game events in New England. The 2026 edition runs July 11–17 out of Falmouth and Oak Bluffs on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, with access to the eastern canyons — Hydrographer, Veatch, and the productive edges off the Nantucket Shoals and Great South Channel. The format is an overnight 42-hour fishing window with boats departing from the port of their choice. The fishery delivers: 165 billfish were caught in 2025 with nearly $700,000 in prize money paid out. The tournament is also a qualifying event in the Sport Fishing Championship series, with top finishers earning an invitation to the Offshore World Championship in Costa Rica. Black Book has vessels positioned in New England for summer season. If you want to fish the Cape Cod Bluewater Classic on a privately owned, tournament-rigged sportfish boat, this is where to start.
