The Virginia Beach Billfish Tournament (VBBT) is set to celebrate its 22nd annual event from August 20-23, 2025, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. As an invitation-only tournament, the VBBT focuses on fun, conservation, and charity, attracting an average of 80 teams competing for a purse exceeding $800,000.
Participants target species such as blue marlin, white marlin, sailfish, spearfish, tuna, dolphin, and wahoo, adhering to modified release formats to promote conservation. The event is renowned not only for its competitive fishing but also for its vibrant evening dock parties featuring five-star dinners, top-shelf bars, and live music, fostering a family-oriented atmosphere.
The VBBT is part of the Virginia Beach Billfish Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting youth and marine-related charities. Over $1.5 million has been donated to date, underscoring the tournament's commitment to giving back to the community.
