A curated guide to what to expect before your charter begins, so that when the day arrives, the only thing left to think about is the fishing.

Charter Hours

Standard charter hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM unless otherwise stated in your charter agreement. Please refer to your agreement for your confirmed departure and return times, and arrive at the marina 15 minutes before departure.

‍

Guest Capacity

Most vessels accommodate up to 6 guests in accordance with Coast Guard regulations. Select vessels 80 feet and larger may accommodate additional guests with prior approval.

‍

Food and Beverages

Your charter includes a customized sandwich platter, fresh fruit, snacks, beer, water and soft drinks. Enhanced catering, premium beverages and stewardess service can be arranged in advance. Please share any dietary restrictions or special requests before your charter.

‍

Fishing Experience

No prior fishing experience is necessary. Our professional tournament crew will provide the rods, reels, tackle and guidance needed throughout the day. You may participate as much or as little as you would like.

‍

Gratuity

Gratuity is not included and is always at your discretion. A gratuity of 15 to 20 percent of the charter fee is customary and is shared among the crew.

‍

What to Wear

For comfort and safety, we recommend closed toe, nonmarking shoes while in the cockpit. Please also bring a hat, polarized sunglasses and a change of clothes.

‍

Sunscreen

Spray sunscreen is not permitted onboard because it can stain the boat and create slippery surfaces. Please bring waterproof lotion sunscreen instead.

‍

Children

Guests under 16 must receive prior approval and remain under the direct supervision of an adult charterer at all times.

‍

Marine Toilets

Marine toilets operate differently from household toilets. Please flush gently and place all sanitary items in the trash can provided.

‍

Cockpit Hatches

Please lower the cockpit drink box hatch slowly and hold it until it is completely closed. This protects both you and the vessel.

‍

Smoking and Drugs

Smoking is not permitted onboard. Black Book Charters also maintains a strict zero tolerance policy for illegal drugs on every vessel.
